Rodgers made his first media appearance since January, where the 41-year-old quarterback admitted he still has a chance of retiring after a 20-season career but didn’t rule out a deal with the Steelers.

‘I’m open to everything,’ Rodgers said. ‘I’m not attached to anything.’

Rodgers has cited personal issues as the reason he has delayed a decision on whether to play football next season, with some personal commitments now his top priority.

‘I’ve got a couple of people in my circle who are struggling, so I’ve got a lot of things that have caught my attention and since the beginning of January I haven’t played football,’ Rodgers said. ‘That’s what I’m most interested in. It’s important to make a commitment, whether you’re a first-year player or a 20-year veteran.

Rodgers has been linked to the Steelers in recent weeks after quietly meeting with the organization on March 21 and a week later, he took part in a throwing session with new Pittsburgh wide receiver DK Metcalf at UCLA. 

‘I wanted to do a thorough review of this whole process. Part of it was talking to people like DK. Let’s be honest, he’s a great guy. He loves football. He’s a really good role model.’ 

The Steelers currently have only Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson on their quarterback roster ahead of the draft, which begins Thursday, April 24, and Rodgers has yet to set a deadline for him to make a decision. 

‘In all this time, I have never felt that I owe anyone any decision. This is my life. I said that now everything has changed. My personal life has changed. I have things in the industry that I am very close to. These things are very important to me.’ 

‘I’ve been honest with them about it and said, ‘Listen, if you need to move on, if you need to do something, go ahead and do it.’ There’s nothing but love and respect if that’s the decision that needs to be made. There’s no deadline. I’ve talked to Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin multiple times. ( sudpung168 )

However, Rodgers has not ruled out the possibility of playing for another team, and has indicated that money is not an issue for him, saying: ‘I’ve spoken to these teams from the beginning about my position. It started with money. I told every team I’ve spoken to that it’s not about money. I’m going to play for money ($10 million a season). I don’t care. ‘
