Buffalo Bills running back Frank Gore, 36, who is entering his 15th professional season, has said he has no intention of retiring from the NFL anytime soon until he is no longer fit or able to perform as well as he would like, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported Sunday. superheng1688
Gore entered the league as a third-round draft pick in 2005 with the San Francisco 49ers before playing for the Indianapolis Colts and Miami Dolphins before signing a one-year, $2 million deal with the Bills in March. Questions were raised about how much longer the 36-year-old running back would play in the league, but it was made clear he has no plans to retire anytime soon.
‘I just go with my gut feeling,’ Gore said. ‘If I feel like I can’t do more than that then I’ll call for it.’
Gore decided to leave his hometown team, the Dolphins, after just one season and moved to the AFC East division rivals, the Bills.
It might be difficult for many players, but for the 36-year-old runner, it’s easy for him.
‘It’s the second year they’ve come in for me, they’ve shown they want me again. In this league, especially at my age, you want to be wanted. That was a factor (in the decision), especially coming back from injury.’
Gore will join a Bills running back group that includes veteran LeSean McCoy, rookie running back Devin Singletary and former Jacksonville Jaguar T.J. Yeldon as the Buffaloes’ ground-breaking unit in 2019. ( superheng1688 )
