Dallas Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence has yet to address long-term contract talks with the team, although Dallas Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones made it clear the team is working on a long-term deal with the 26-year-old, NFL Network reported Wednesday.  superheng1688

Lawrence, a 26-year-old defensive end who will be a free agent in March, declined to comment on discussions about his long-term contract with the Cowboys when asked about it while walking out of practice in preparation for the Pro Bowl.

‘I’m trying to do a long-term deal as well,’ Lawrence said of his intentions. ‘Just tell Stephen to come to me when he’s ready. I mean, he knows what’s going on with me.’

Lawrence entered the 2018 season under the franchise tag, earning $17.1 million, playing in 16 games, starting 15, recording 42 tackles and 10.5 sacks. The Cowboys have about a month and a half to decide on Lawrence’s future before the start of the new league calendar, but if the two sides can’t reach an agreement on a long-term deal, Dallas could slap the franchise tag on Lawrence for another year.
