Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Mansell got his first start for the Montreal Alouettes in a humiliating 11-50 loss to Mansell’s former team, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, on Friday.  superheng1688

Mansell had been out of action for nearly three years after being traded by the Browns in March 2015 before the former Heisman Trophy winner signed with the Canadian Football League’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats on March 31, but didn’t play a minute in the team’s first five games until he was traded to the Montreal Alouettes on July 22, where he made his debut Friday. 

The sluggish quarterback completed 11 of 20 passes for 104 yards, no touchdowns and four interceptions, the most in the Canadian Football League season, before the Alouettes were crushed 11-50.

‘Today I felt like I played something different today and you know it’s a disgraceful game,’ Mansell admitted.

‘This is a humiliating experience. I’ve had it in the past and there are two ways you can go about it. One, you can let it make you feel bad and it’s detrimental to your future. The other is to try not to let it happen again.’

Mansell practiced with the Alouettes just four times before making his debut Friday, and the 25-year-old quarterback is expected to improve as he gets more familiar with the team.

‘It’s good to be here for two or three weeks and then you start, of course. But I didn’t lose any confidence going into the game. I didn’t feel I wasn’t ready. Today it went the way it went. It was the worst thing that could have happened.’ ( superheng1688 )
