Carolina Panthers general manager Dan Morgan confirmed the team is open to trading the No. 8 overall pick in the draft to accumulate additional options, NFL Network reports. superheng1688

“I think we’re open to trading backs and getting more draft picks,” Morgan said. “I think we’re open to whatever’s possible, let’s put it that way.” 

Derek Carr’s shoulder injury could give the New Orleans Saints, who own the No. 9 pick, an incentive to select a quarterback in this year’s draft, a move that could give some franchises a chance to trade up to get a spot above the Saints, while the Panthers, who own the No. 8 pick, are open to trading ahead of the draft on April 24.

Asked if he had received any further inquiries about a potential trade since Carr’s injury report was released Friday, Morgan replied: “I don’t think so. I think it’s too early to talk about it. I think we’ll have to wait and see. But right now, it’s pretty quiet.” ( superheng1688 )
