Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons is ready to learn a third-string defense after the arrival of defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus, who joins new head coach Brian Schottenheimer, NFL Network reports. superheng1688

Parsons played his first three seasons under Dan Quinn before moving on to become the head coach of the Washington Commanders. The Cowboys then brought on Mike Zimmer as defensive coordinator for the 2024 season, before parting ways with the organization along with 61-year-old head coach Mike McCarthy. 

Before the Cowboys hired Schottenheimer as their new head coach and brought in former Chicago Bears head coach Eberflus as Parsons’ third defensive coordinator.

“It’s just learning a new system and letting another coach adapt to how I like to play, what I like to do and keep me engaged,” Parsons said. “It’s obviously challenging with a third (defensive coach) and (another change) isn’t the best in the world, but that’s part of being a professional. You have to adapt.”

Parsons was slow to adjust to the changes last season, recording just one sack in the first four games before adding 11 sacks in the final nine games and putting 49 quarterback pressures on the bench. The 25-year-old linebacker is hoping Eberflus will add some energy to his game this offseason. 

“I want to get a little stronger, I have a little more energy, there are some things I want to do and I’m going to work on with my off-season program. I’m always trying to ask for new things, so I’m going to try to get a little bit of energy back,” Parsons said. ( superheng1688 )
