Baltimore Ravens Pro Bowl fullback Patrick Ricard believes Lamar Jackson will succeed in winning a Super Bowl in the future after the Ravens’ Divisional Playoff drubbing ended with a loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, ESPN reports. superheng1688
‘It was inevitable,’ Ricard said. ‘He’s going to win a Super Bowl, and I want to be a part of it. It’s too bad it hasn’t happened yet.’
Jackson is the only two-time MVP to never win a Super Bowl following a 25-27 loss to the Bills that left the 28-year-old quarterback with a 3-5 record in the postseason.
“I feel bad for Chau personally because he deserves it just because he’s a great player,” Ricard said. “He deserves to be considered one of the best quarterbacks. He deserves to be recognized, but I know everybody sees winning as the standard, and he’s going to get it someday.”
Rickard also drew comparisons between Jackson and Peyton Manning during their first seven seasons, where they both went 3-5 in the postseason and Manning eventually won two Super Bowls.
‘There’s still time,’ Ricard said. ‘He’s still young. He’s going to win it one day.’
Jackson has a chance to become the youngest player to win the MVP award three times, when the award will be presented at the NFL Honors on Feb. 6, after becoming the first player to throw for at least 40 touchdowns and fewer than five interceptions in a season (41 touchdowns, four interceptions).
