Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr believes the Pirates still have the strength and talent to compete for a playoff spot in the AFC West, where they face tough competition from the Kansas City Chiefs, Denver Broncos and LA Chargers, The Athletic reported Wednesday.  ( superwin636 )

The Raiders upgraded this offseason with wide receiver Devontae Adams and ‘edge rusher’ Chandler Jones, while the Broncos traded Russell Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks. The Chargers welcomed newcomers Khalil Mack and J.C. Jackson, while the Chiefs still have Patrick Mahomes leading the charge, even though the Chiefs are losing wide receiver Tyreek Hill.

‘It’s going to be fun,’ Carr said. ‘Nobody’s thinking about us, and I think that’s what makes it fun is you just have to put the ball down and play the game of football.’

Many analysts see the Raiders as having a smaller chance than their peers like the Chiefs, Broncos or Chargers, but Carr believes the Blackhawks are humble and hungry enough to contend in the 2022 season.
