“I’m very excited and happy to be here,” Tanaka said. “I control the game, make assists and score goals. I want to help the team. Of course we want to play in the Premier League. That’s why I’m here. I want to contribute to the team.”
‘Everyone says the Leeds fans are amazing and the atmosphere in the stadium is great too. I can’t wait to play in front of these amazing fans.’
‘I want to win in a stadium with a lot of fans.’
Tanaka has made 27 appearances for Japan, playing a key role in their run to the 2020 Olympics and 2022 World Cup, including scoring the winner against Spain as the Samurai Blue advanced to the knockout stages.
