( thaisiambet )Micah Richards has hailed Manchester City midfielder Nico O’Reilly’s performance in Sunday’s 2-1 FA Cup win at Bournemouth, and is pleased his former club didn’t sell him to Chelsea. thaisiambet

    The 20-year-old was introduced in the second half of Vitality’s 1-0 win and provided assists for Erling Haaland and Omar Marmouch to secure a comeback and a place in the semi-finals.

    The Blues reportedly made a £40m bid for O’Reilly in the winter transfer window, and Richards is delighted the Citizens have not let him go and praised his impressive performance in recent games.

    “We’ve talked about him before, haven’t we? He scored two goals against Plymouth,” Richards told The Rest Is Football podcast of O’Reilly. “Just the way he sees the gaps, we see the quality of his passing, the timing.

    “I heard Chelsea want to buy him for £40m. I heard it on the radio. That was the first time I heard about it.”
