Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed that Deshaun Watson will remain the starting quarterback despite the team’s 1-5 record following Sunday’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, NFL Network reports. thaisiambet

Watson is 16-of-23 passing for 168 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions. He has thrown for fewer than 200 yards through the first six games of this season and is the only quarterback to do so in 2024. But Stefanski has no plans to remove Watson from the starting lineup to make way for Jameis Winston.

“I think the main thing is we have to do everything we can to play good, quality football,” Stefanski said. “I think the last game had some moments like that. I think DeShaun gave us the best chance to win. He continues to give us the best chance to win, and we need to play really well offensively at his position and at every position to be successful on Sunday.”

“I don’t dwell on the stories,” Stefanski added. “We’ve had good conversations with myself, (general manager) Andrew (Barry), the owners about everything we’re doing with this team. They’ve been very supportive and any decisions that come down to football are my decisions.”
