The Washington Commanders confirmed that 28-year-old kicker Austin Siebert has been placed on injured reserve after suffering a hip injury while missing an extra point in Sunday’s 26-34 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, ESPN reported.

Siebert missed two extra-point attempts, including a 51-yard field goal, and made two field goals of 41 and 51 yards, likely due to a hip injury that has kept him out of the past two games, but the 28-year-old insists he can still kick, just not well enough.

Siebert had previously made a perfect 22 of his extra-point attempts and 25 of 28 field goals before suffering a hip injury, prompting the Commanders to place the 28-year-old on injured reserve, with Zane Gonzalez stepping in to replace him.

Gonzalez replaced Siebert in the previous two games, making all three field goals and all four extra-point attempts. Although he remains on the Commanders’ practice squad, he is eligible to be moved up to the 53-man roster without signing with the current team.
