Real Madrid took a 1-0 lead in the 30th minute when Kylian Mbappe broke through on the left and cut inside past the visitors’ defenders into the penalty area before firing a right-footed shot into the far post.

Four minutes later, the home side extended their lead to 2-0 when Vinicius Junior received the ball on the left and used his unique ability to keep the ball to himself for a while before cutting into the penalty area and shooting a fake shot into the near post.

But in the 45+2 minute, Rayo Vallecano scored a goal to make it 1-2 when Alvaro Garcia passed one-two to Pedro Diaz who shot with his right foot in front of the penalty area. The ball hit the crossbar and bounced out, but the goal line checked that the ball had gone over.

In the second half, the home team almost pulled ahead in the 54th minute, but Mbappe’s shot was off target.

The home side had another chance in the 75th minute, but Vinicius Junior’s right-footed shot from inside the box was wide.

In the final moments of the game, the away team tried to attack hard in the hope of getting a goal back, and had a chance from a header by Aridan Hernandez, but it was saved by Andriy Lunin.
