The Tennessee Titans have reached an agreement with the Green Bay Packers to trade 25-year-old quarterback Malik Willis for a seventh-round draft pick in 2025, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports. ( pgzen )

The former third-round pick in the 2022 draft class started three times in his rookie season, but his status has been dwarfed by former second-round pick Will Lewis in the 2023 draft class, who started nine games in his rookie season and emerged as the starting quarterback in 2024, with Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph, who was signed this offseason, as his backup.

So, the Titans looked to offload Willis until they reached an agreement with the Packers for a 2025 seventh-round draft pick, as the Titans sought an experienced backup for Jordan Love after former 2023 fifth-round draft pick Sean Clifford and seventh-round rookie Michael Pratt both underperformed in the preseason.

Willis is another quarterback from the 2022 draft class who has failed to make an impact with the franchise that selected them, along with Kenny Pickett (Pittsburgh Steelers), Desmond Ridder (Atlanta Falcons), Matt Coral (Carolina Panthers) and Sam Howell (Washington Commanders).

Except for Brock Purdy, a former seventh-round draft pick of the San Francisco 49ers, who has had a great run and could become the league’s highest-paid player if he signs a long-term deal in the future.
