Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has revealed he has been impressed by fourth-round rookie running back Jaylen Wright’s quick transition to the Dolphins, NFL Network reports. ( sakidbet  )

The Dolphins selected Wright with the 120th pick to join a backfield that includes Raheem Mostert, Devon Aachen, Jeff Wilson, Chris Brooks and Salvon Ahmed. The former University of Tennessee running back showed off his speed in a preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons, a 20-13 win, with the 21-year-old rushing 10 times for 55 yards and scoring on a 6-yard run. 

“I think that was the first time I could really say that I saw his personality in running the ball,” Tagovailoa said. “Run the ball and throw the ball like that, so I thought, OK, he’s got his own style.” 

‘I think he’s still trying to figure out how to deal with other players. He’s still trying to figure out how to deal with offensive teams. I think as he gets more comfortable and more comfortable, I think we’re all going to see his personality blossom.’ 

Despite having multiple options at running back, Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel isn’t looking to just go with Mostert and Aachen, but could be looking at as many as four for the 2024 season.

“I mean, who says we have to stop with two guys?” McDaniel said. “Maybe we can stop with four guys. I think you have to let the players dictate who gets the ball how often and how much during the game, and that’s really important.”

‘I think the cool thing is when you have a position group that you know by NFL standards is incredibly talented, one of the most talented groups you can ever remember or have ever been on the same team, you don’t have to worry about how it’s going to look.
