The Oranje came from behind to beat Turkey 2-1 in the Euro 2024 quarter-finals on Saturday, sending the Flying Dutchmen through to Wednesday’s semi-final against England.

After the match, Van Dijk said he was satisfied with the win, even though the first half was disappointing, especially when the opponent took the lead.

“We started strong but then we were disorganised and lost the ball in dangerous situations,” the Liverpool defender said.

“That happened quite a bit but we didn’t give the ball away too often. In the second half you have to try to play calm and take your chances when they come. We did that well. 

“You can see how everyone reacted and worked together. We did everything we could, both in the tackles and in the defense. Now it’s time to recover and get ready for another tough game.” ( wintime999 )
