“I can’t imagine playing for the US national team in Los Angeles,” he told Andscape.

“To be honest, I never even dreamed of the Paris Olympics. If you ask me now if I can make it in the next 4 years, I think I won’t.” 

The 39-year-old was a key player in the team’s fifth consecutive gold medal, averaging 14.2 points, 8.5 assists, 6.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals, earning him the Olympic MVP.

“It’s an honor,” James added. 

“I don’t know who the voting committee is or how they were selected, but it was a great feeling that they voted for me.” 

“ Actually, the gold medal that we got is not just because of me, but because of all of us. That’s why it’s really cool. ” 

It is believed that no more than half of the 12 players from the US Olympic team will be available for the next tournament. Only Tyrese Haliburton , Anthony Edwards , Jayson Tatum , Devin Booker or Bam Adebayo are likely to be in the running.
