New York Giants rookie wide receiver Malik Neighbors set a new record in Thursday’s 15-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys before leaving the field late in the game with a concussion, ESPN reported. vox888

Neighbors had 12 catches for 115 yards in Thursday’s game. He now has 35 catches for 386 yards and three touchdowns this season. He became the first NFL rookie to have at least 25 catches and three scores in his first four games.

“He’s doing well again,” said Blues head coach Brian DeBoll of Neighbors. “We’re glad to have him.”

However, Neighbors suffered an injury while catching a pass late in the fourth quarter and had to leave the game as he tried to keep his feet on the field to catch a pass from Daniel Jones near the sideline, before falling and hitting his helmet hard on the ground and knocking the ball out of his hand, turning it into a turnover on downs.

Neighbors was on the field for about a minute and was initially evaluated in the sideline medical tent before eventually being taken to the locker room where he was diagnosed with a concussion, or head injury.

The rookie wide receiver posted on Instagram, “Everything is fine. Thanks for all the prayers!!!”

Neighbors remains in the NFL’s concussion protocol, with the Giants having about 10 days before their next game against the Seattle Seahawks.  ( vox888 )
