New Miami Dolphins defensive backs coach Anthony Weaver revealed that he plans to have 29-year-old veteran cornerback Jalen Ramsey play more coverage this season. 2024, according to a report from NFL Network last Friday.  hotfuns

Under the tutelage of previous Dolphins wide receivers coach Vic Fangio, Ramsey appeared primarily on the right side, 87.6 percent of his snaps in 10 games during the regular season. While opponents attempted just 84 right passes after Ramsey’s return in Week 8, the second-fewest in the NFL, Weaver plans to use cornerbacks. The 29-year-old covers more ground next season. ‘You talk about the archetypal cornerback. He’s like that,’ Weaver said of Ramsey. ‘The size, the length, the speed, the competitiveness. The main thing about him is that I think he’s your best chess piece. So having him on the outside and being a field corner or a boundary corner or something like that does damage to him. We need to find a way to lean in where he can have the greatest impact. We are committed to doing just that.’  

Last season, Ramsey played 533 snaps as an outside cornerback, 14 as a slot, two as a free safety and 35 in the box. From Weaver’s perspective, Ramsey played 533 snaps as an outside cornerback. that moving Ramsey around would benefit the Dolphins’ defense in 2024
