Barcelona 17-year-old defender Pau Gubarsi is happy to be part of the 2024 Ballon d’Or ceremony after being nominated for the Copa Trophy, with team-mate Lamine Yamal winning the award, Diario Sport reported on Tuesday.

‘We are very happy with our performance at the Bernabeu and to be here at the Ballon d’Or ceremony. The truth is that we are enjoying everything that happens to us to the fullest.’

‘Being here is a source of pride, it’s something every player dreams about since he was a kid. I miss my family and friends who have always supported me,’ Gubarsi said.

The 17-year-old centre-back also spoke about his expectation that the Blaugrana will continue to perform at a high level, showing the strength of the team.
