    The 51-year-old former player only took over as the club’s manager in mid-September and has managed the team in three games, winning one and drawing two, but has surprisingly announced his departure, saying the club broke a promise they made to him.

    “They promised me full control over the team,” Makelele told the London World. “I will decide who plays and who doesn’t. The transfers are not my responsibility.”

    “If you want to sack me because of bad performances, go ahead. This is football, but don’t tell me who should play or not.”    

    In the last game (against Kallithea) they insisted on putting an important player on the bench. This player has a very low salary but he is the best player in the team. I played him for 20 minutes, he made two assists and we won the game, but the club didn’t want him to play.”
