Former Brighton & Hove Albion striker Jokeres has been a target for a number of Premier League clubs since his time at Championship side Coventry City and has now been linked with a move to Manchester United amid the prospect of Amorim becoming their new head coach.

According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Jokeres has a €100m release clause with Sporting, but that figure drops to €60-70m in the summer of 2025, a figure that could be affordable for a number of Premier League clubs.

The 26-year-old forward joined Sporting from Coventry in the summer of 2023 for a fee of just €20+4m and has scored 43 goals in 50 games in all competitions in his first season there, winning the Primeira Liga title and the league’s top scorer and player of the year awards for the 2023-24 season.

This season, Jokeres has maintained his high standards, scoring 14 goals in 14 games in all competitions, while his performance with the Swedish national team since 2023 alone has been 8 goals in 13 games.
