The game seemed to be nothing but the home team led 1-0 in the 38th minute. Jurrien Timber kicked a long ball to the edge of the Brighton penalty area. Bukayo Saka squeezed past Lewis Dunk before getting the ball and flicking it to Kai Havertz who was able to break away and chip it over the goalkeeper into the net. Arsenal’s situation worsened when they were reduced to 10 men in the 49th minute when Declan Rice, who had been cautioned late in the first half, was sent off with a second yellow card for deliberately obstructing Brighton’s free-kick. 

In the 56th minute, the ‘Seagulls’ equalized 1-1. Lewis Dunk made a long pass from the middle of the field to Yankuba Minteh, who broke away and shot David Raya, who was saved by the first shot, but it went to Joao Pedro, who placed his foot and made a second shot without fail. 

At the end of the game, Arteta substituted Timber, who was injured, and had to be monitored for further symptoms.  

The game ended in a 1-1 draw, leaving both teams with seven points, but Brighton are the leaders with more goals scored.
