Daniel Craig eyed for Netflix’s ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’ sunlit1688

sunlit1688 After starring in Netflix ’s “Knives Out” series , Daniel Craig may be joining Netflix for another major film series, “ The Chronicles of Narnia ,” which is set to begin filming this year.

The report says that Netflix has offered Craig a role in the film, but it is not confirmed whether Craig has signed on or not, and it seems that Craig is considering the offer for now. sunlit1688

The role that Craig might play is not yet confirmed, but there are a number of possibilities, but sources say that Craig could be playing Uncle Andrew Ketterly, a magician living in 1900s London who is the uncle of Professor Digory Kirk, with whom Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy are staying in “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.” That would mean that Netflix would likely start adapting the film from “The Magician’s Nephew,” which takes place before the siblings were born.

Craig is the second actor to join the film, following Charlie XCX,  who was set to play the White Witch Jardis.

This new “The Chronicles of Narnia” film was announced by Netflix in 2018 and Greta Gerwig was attached to write and direct in 2020. It is expected to begin shooting in July of this year and will be Gerwig’s biggest project since “Barbie.”

Gerwig has already negotiated with IMAX to have the film released theatrically around Thanksgiving 2026, before Netflix brings it to its own screens around Christmas.

C.S. Lewis’s novels were previously adapted into three films by Walden Media, and while plans were underway to make a fourth film based on “The Silver Chair,” Netflix acquired the rights to the books in their entirety, shedding plans for a new film to make way for Netflix’s project. ( sunlit1688 )
