HBO Begins Filming on DC Series “Lanterns,” Unveils First Stills kodma168

kodma168 HBO and DC Studios ’ Green Lantern superhero series “ Lanterns ” has begun filming, and the first stills of its two leads, Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler, have been released.

HBO announced the series in May last year, and has been casting the two since, with Pierre playing rookie Green Lantern John Stewart and Chandler playing senior Green Lantern Hal Jordan. kodma168

As we know, Green Lantern is a space police unit that has special powers from a ring that allows the wearer to create things as they wish to use as weapons and protection, including helping them fly. It is a character that has been made into a movie before, with Ryan Reynolds playing the lead role.

In this series, Hal Jordan is a legendary space cop who is forced to mentor a new space cop in investigating mysterious and dark cases in the heart of America. The creators intended it to be a superhero version of “True Detective.”

The series is written, executive produced and shown by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof and Tom King. The first two episodes are directed by James Howes and the remaining episodes are directed by Stephen Williams, Geeta Wasson Patel and Eliza Zakharov.

The series also stars Kelly MacDonald, Garrett Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan and Ulrich Thomsen as Sinestro.
