The film is set to begin shooting this week in Ireland, with a US release scheduled for April 17, 2026. lisbon365

Plot details are still under wraps, but it’s understood that Raynor will play a butler who accidentally does something naughty and ends up encountering the mummy’s evil supernatural powers.

Cronin, who previously directed “Evil Dead Rises” for New Line, has said of his version of the film, “It’s not like any Mummy movie you’ve ever seen. I’m going to dig deep and bring something ancient and scary.”

James Wan’s Atomic Monster and Jason Blum’s Blumhouse are co-financing the film, which means that James Wan, Jason Blum and John Cavill will co-execute the production.

Raynor is an Irish actor best known for his leading role in “Transformers: Age of Extinction.” He also starred in John Carney’s “Sing Street” and Ari Aster’s “Midsommar.” ( lisbon365 )
