Nick Frost set to play Hagrid in “Harry Potter” series onelove168

onelove168 British actor Nick Frost, best known for his comedic roles in “Hot Fuzz” and “Shaun of the Dead,” is set to play Hogwarts School groundskeeper Rubeus Hagrid in HBO’s “ Harry Potter, ” Deadline reports.

If a deal is agreed, Frost will join John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Professor Minerva McGonagall and Papa Essidou as Professor Severus Snape, who were previously cast. onelove168

The report comes after Harry Potter fans had previously speculated that Frost was excited about his upcoming project, and fans noticed that he had been following his fellow actors from the series.

The late Robbie Coltrane played Hagrid in all eight films. Francesca Gardiner, who created “Succession,” “His Dark Materials” and “Killing Eve,” will serve as showrunner for the series, with Marc Mylod  of  “Succession” also serving as executive producer and director for several episodes. It is set to premiere in late 2026 to early 2027.
