Warner Bros. is preparing a remake of the world-chewing “The Blob” bgames666

bgames666 Warner Bros. Motion Pictures Group is set to remake “ The Blob ,” and has tapped David Bruckner, of “The Ritual,” “The Night House” and 2022’s “Hellraiser,” to write and direct.

The original was a 1958 film starring Steve McQueen, about a shapeless, red, slimy alien creature that devours everything in its path by sucking it into its body, growing larger as it eats. bgames666

The film was remade in 1988, with Frank Darabont co-writing the script, which changed the plot from aliens to a military bioweapon that had been released.

The 1988 version has a fairly strong fan base, with scarier and more gruesome scenes than the original. Although it lost money, the film only made $8.2 million on a $10 million budget. ( bgames666 )
